Want an eye lift and skin tightening without surgical trauma and downtime? Plexr is the right aesthetic medicine treatment for you! This innovative skin treatment, also called medical blepharoplasty, is used to treat sagging eyelids and rejuvenate the eyes in a non-invasive way. It offers a non-surgical alternative to blepharoplasty. How does it work? What areas can be treated and how long to see results? Keep reading to learn more!
How does Plexr skin tightening work?
The session takes place at our clinic after a consultation. Our aesthetic doctor will use the Plexr device which looks likes a pen, using a “spot” technique, making small impacts by bringing the pen close to the skin, but without touching it. The energy released by the PLEXR (beam) causes an immediate reaction on the skin as it turns the skin cells from a solid-state into a gas. A small dot (scab) will then form on the treated area.
This procedure offers similar results as traditional blepharoplasty surgery, but with quicker recovery and avoiding heavy side effects and significant risks associated with surgery. It is usually used around the eyes and around the mouth for skin tightening and rejuvenation with amazing results.
Before treatment - After treatment
Before the treatment, a consultation is required to discuss your needs and the degree of skin laxity. The treatment takes around 30 to 60 minutes depending on the area treated. Before the treatment, a topical anesthetic numbing cream will be applied for the best comfort.
After the treatment, the treated area will be immediately red forming little dots (small crusts). The swelling may intensify over the following hours as a usual side effect of the procedure. The scrab should resolve within one or two weeks.
You will leave the clinic with aftercare information and a kit that includes a special foundation with SPF to help with the healing process and camouflage the crusts. Final results appear usually 3-4 weeks following treatment.
How many treatments are required?
The number of sessions depends on the area to be treated, the degree of skin laxity and it will be defined with your aesthetic doctor at your consultation. Overall, If the area is large, your aesthetic doctor will recommend you to divide it into smaller sections and treat them at different times, to allow post-procedure compost and healing. Further treatments can be recommended for better results carried out at 8-12 weekly intervals.
