What is Botox

“Botulinum toxin, commonly referred to as Botox, is a powerful neurotoxic protein derived from the bacterium Clostridium botulinum, particularly OnabotulinumtoxinA. When injected by botox specialists,  this cosmetic form of botulinum toxin type A temporarily blocks the nerve signals to the muscle. Without a signal, the muscle is temporarily paralyzed.

Anti-aging injections

As a cosmetic treatment, Botox injection is the most popular anti-aging treatment. It temporarily smooths and erases fine lines and dynamic wrinkles created by the constant motion of facial muscles that are activated when you are frowning, squinting, and smiling.

The most commonly treated areas are frown lines, forehead creases, and crow’s feet near the eyes. The injection takes only a few minutes with no anesthesia, as we use a small needle to inject Botox into specific muscles with only minor discomfort.

FDA approved

The FDA approved the use of Botox as a cosmetic treatment in 2002, for moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows. And for treatment of wrinkles around the corners of the eyes (crow’s feet) in 2013.

As your safety is our number one priority, Clinique des Champs Elysées Medspa provides the best injectors in NYC, using Botox and Dysport, combined or not with other facial fillers.
